Birthday Announcements
If your child is about to have a birthday, but you find that for whatever reason having a party for him would be impossible to do, you can still ensure a good day with plenty of gifts if you send out birthday announcements to all of your friends and family. By sending birthday announcements, those who care about your child will have the chance to purchase gifts and send cards ahead of his birthday. Even though he is not able to have a party with all of his close friends and family in attendance, he will still enjoy getting the cards in the mail and being able to open those gifts that are sent or hand delivered to him before his birthday. Remember, you do have options to make sure your child has a fun and happy birthday without a party!
When you send out the birthday announcements, it is your choice of whether or not you explain the reason why he won’t be able to have a party. If it is something that everyone knows about, such as he will be out of town on a trip, or he is going to visit another parent or grandparents, then there is really no reason not to tell anyone. If it is something that would embarrass him or you, however, you should not feel compelled to give the reason. Your friends and family should care more about providing a wonderful time on his birthday instead of the personal reasons of why there will not be a party.
When you are choosing the birthday announcements to send, you will have many choices to pick from. There are themed birthday announcements that are available with many different characters that your child may enjoy, or you can choose a more elegant style that may not have a character on them. You may pick just a regular party theme with pictures of balloons and presents on them.
You could even get your child involved in the choosing of the birthday announcements that will be used. He may enjoy helping you to get them ready, and if he is old enough, he could even help you write them!
